“Once again, all my plans are upside down, my head’s spinning from this retrograde. Why is this happening to me?”. After receiving several such laments in my inbox, I decided this time to focus on the meaning and benefits of Mercury retrograde. After all, the right question isn’t “WHY ME?” but “WHAT FOR?”
When a planet turns retrograde, it appears less certain — almost as if it’s doubting whether it’s been moving in the right direction.
The same thing happens to people. We begin to question the validity of our beliefs, our priorities, and the ways we solve problems. During this period, events occur that push us toward changing our usual approach to life. And in turn, our shifting perspective influences our decisions—and therefore the situations we find ourselves in.
Since we’re talking about Mercury, the situations of this period will revolve around Mercurial themes.
Mercury is the natural ruler of the next areas:
- All types and means of communication, interaction, transmission, reception, and processing of information
- any activity related to the word (literature, journalism, publishing, advertising, sales…)
- learning and teaching
- contracts and negotiations, transactions, exchanges, buying and selling, commercial and intermediary activities
- equipment – office, household, electronic, and computing
- transportation – of all kinds
- the very process of transportation, travel, route, schedule.
- organization and coordination
- planning, analysis, logic
During Mercury retrograde, all these areas can become sources of stress — equipment breaks down, plans fall apart, letters get lost… Sometimes it feels like life descends into complete chaos. But when things don’t go according to plan, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should change your goals — perhaps you just need to CHANGE THE PLAN.
And this is Mercury retrograde’s main purpose: TO FIND THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE.
⠀
What becomes most important now are the things that repeat, bring us back to the past, or require reworking. These moments give us a chance to see our life’s structure from a different angle and to do the essential “error correction” needed for future growth.
⠀
That’s the WHOLE POINT. So don’t be afraid to look back, adapt, fix, and adjust your plans—it’s all for the better!
